Our six Christian values of compassion, respect, perseverance, trust, peace and hope bring our vision to life. Rooted in biblical teachings, these values shape our relationships, guide our choices and influence the way we learn, work and grow together.
Through Collective Worship, our curriculum and everyday experiences, we encourage children to reflect on these values and understand how they can put them into practice. We want every child to recognise their own God-given gifts, celebrate the gifts of others and understand how their words and actions can make a positive difference.

Our six Christian values are woven into every aspect of life at Mawnan. They provide the foundations for our school community, shaping our ethos, relationships, curriculum, policies and everyday practice. More than simply words, they guide the way we treat one another, the decisions we make and the opportunities we create for every child to flourish.
Through Collective Worship and Religious Education, children explore the life and teachings of Jesus, develop their understanding of the Bible and consider how Christian beliefs and values influence the lives of others. We encourage children to reflect thoughtfully, ask questions, explore different perspectives and consider what these teachings might mean for their own lives.
As a Church of England school, we value our close and longstanding relationship with our local churches and the wider Christian community. The rhythm of the Christian calendar is an important part of school life, with celebrations including Harvest, Christingle, Christmas and Easter providing meaningful opportunities for reflection, worship and coming together as a community. Our families are warmly invited to share in these special occasions.
Visits to our village churches enrich children's learning and deepen their understanding of our Christian heritage, while our strong links with the church community provide opportunities for shared worship, celebration and service to others. These valued partnerships strengthen children's sense of belonging and help them understand the importance of contributing positively to their community.
